The customer is enticed into paying a minimal amount for shipping and handling costs, in a matter what is sold to them as a trial. In fact, unbeknownst to the consumer, they are signing up for a subscription to receive a regular shipment of the product at full price.

Naturally many customers signing up this deal were not interested in receiving regular acai shipments. Surprise turned to frustration as the customers realize they could not cancel the subscription. CCN made it very difficult to contact them by not answering e-mails and leaving callers on hold for over an hour. Often the only way out of this scam is to cancel credit card from which the Acai is being charged.

People taking advantage like this of the popularity of Acai as a health food should consider their cards marked. There is a legitimate market for Acai, and many legitimate distributors fulfilling legitimate orders. Scammers take note: you are not welcome here.

I, like many other people, heard about Acai Berry and the wonderful effects it can have on the body. It was always being touted as a weight-loss product because of the antioxidants and other useful ingredients. I know a bit about nutrition, and I knew that antioxidants are proven to be good not just for people on a diet or trying to get healthy, but for pretty much anyone when they are combined with a sensible diet and some exercise. The GNC supplements are full of lots of ingredients that are simply not acai. Green tea is one (Caffeine! Ugh!), and the Acai extract in there just didn’t impress me at all.

That’s when I went for some proper acai puree: Acai Berry Ultra-Slim, in fact. Ultra-Slim is 100% acai berry puree with some added ingredients – including Essentra – that apparently help to improve the effect it has. Essentra is a very potent appetite suppressant which means Ultra-Slim is great for us to take out during a busy day: we don’t get hungry and we don’t feel the need to snack.

The puree has kind of an odd texture: very thick and stodgy. The kids actually view it as some kind of competition to see who can get theirs down the quickest!

So after a bit of a false, stuttering start, my choice has definitely been the right one for us. The moral of the story? Do your homework before you get excited and buy acai berry products!

Fake Acai scam sites lure people into signing one of their free trial offers. The public are enticed to these free trials because of the very low price which the health product is offered. Sometimes, it is just the cost of shipping and handling which is charged to a client, which he can pay through a credit card.
