Beating Free Radicals

The acai berry has gained a lot of attention in recent years, including being featured as part of a diet plan on the Oprah Winfrey show, as a new food discovery that is excellent for health. The acai berry is said to be high in antioxidants which helps overall cellular health by combating free radicals. Free radicals are one of the main causes of cell damage and can be linked to a range of problems from things as simple as aging to others as serious as cancer. A diet rich in antioxidants and vitamins will help keep the health of our cells by protecting our bodies from free radical damage.

As part of this series of appearances he has given a recommendation of ten super-foods that are highly beneficial to eat or drink for overall good health. Holding the place of number one on this list is the acai berry which he says is one of the most nutritious foods in the world. The berry can be eaten alone as a fruit but is more commonly found in juices, smoothies or tablets. People are recommended to add acai into their regular diet to absorb all the benefits that this powerful little berry contains.
